Batman: Under the Red Hood trailer
Wow, this one took me completely by surprise. Batman: Under the Red Hood is the next animated film from Warner and damn, its a must see already. Based on the Batman comic books arch story with the same name (by Judd Winick and Doug Mahnke), Batman: Under the Red Hood puts the Dark Knight face to face with one mysterious character, the so called… well, Red Hood. The official synopsis says this:
Batman faces his ultimate challenge as the mysterious Red Hood takes Gotham City by firestorm. One part vigilante, one part criminal kingpin, Red Hood begins cleaning up Gotham City with the efficiency of Batman, but without following the same ethical code. Killing is an option. And when The Joker falls in the balance between the two, hard truths emerge and old wounds reopen.
If you have no idea who Red Hood is, I wont spoil it for you. I totally love the voice of Batman, and the new animation looks fantastic. A total evolution from the classic ‘’blocky’’ Warner animation style seen in countless movies. In case you wonder, the voice of Batman is provided by Bruce Greenwood (Star Trek), Nightwing is played by Neil Patrick Harris, John Dimaggio (Futurama) as the Joker, Jensen Ackles (Supernatural) as Red Hood and Jason Isacs as Ra’s Al Ghul. Executive producer? The man itself, Bruce Timm.
This one will be a big one, cant wait! Until then, go buy the two Batman: Under the Red Hood trade paperback volumes, because its a fantastic story and you want to savor it both in comic book form and animated. Its one of the fundamental Batman stories, and you wont be sorry, trust me. What is next? Maybe a Batman RIP animated movie? We can hope, at least.
Batman: Under the Red Hood will be available on July 27, on Blu-ray, DVD, on demand and as digital download, while the official site is already online, at THIS address. Enjoy the trailer!
im pumped to say the least. Batman has always been my favorite superhero and i think the red hood is a perfect topic for a movie. also, neil patrick harris voicing nightwing?? AWESOME.
I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone else either so ill prolly stop talking before i say something haha but i am very excited.
i did some research on this movie and they are using the second red hood instead of the first. Although the first one didn’t have that big of a story, it was just how they explained the Joker lol. But i kind of wished they used the Joker, but even still, I think that using the second one will be cool. Although people that haven’t followed the comics may not completely get the story. O well, we’ll have to see how they set it up.
I guess they will just make a short introduction to the back story and the characters. I watched the trailer again and I noticed the big guy who is shooting lasers through his eyes, a la Cyclops. Whaaaaaa… Maybe an improved Bayne, haha. I wanted Christian Bale as the voice of Batman! Buhuhu! Just joking.
