Iron Vendetta anime

Iron Vendetta (Koutetsu no Vendetta) is an independent anime production that started with a short picture drama, and then slowly evolved into a full animated pilot episode, or episode zero, how they are called. You can judge the evolution of the project in the three trailers down bellow. I like those transitions from pencil drawings to animation a lot, they can be integrated nice in the final product.
The pilot will be ready next year (kind of long to…

Super Robot Wars OG2: The Inspector trailer

I was watching some anime trailers today and one of them caught my attention. Super Robot Wars OG2: The Inspector is an anime based on the second Super Robot Wars game. Yeap! The other anime adaptation after this game was based on the first Super Robot Wars game. Basically we will have the same heroes reunited against the robot invaders, the so called Inspectors.

This second adaptation will feature a theme song by JAM…

Resident Evil: Afterlife losing it to the 3D

Three new short video clips have been released for the latest Resident Evil movie, on its name Resident Evil: Afterlife. Great, you will say, but looks like this movie is all about the 3D sensation that will transmit and less about anything else. Practically, we can see a bunch of spectacular jumps, explosions, plane landings, flying debris and so on, that will accentuate the sensation of 3D. These and the Matrix scene, which gets a bad copycat in this movie. C’mon, Mila, Trinity did it better! And look at the …

Miyazaki planning a sequel to Porco Rosso

Do not start to open the champagne bottles yet, you may have to wait a few years for it to happen. Ghibli’s veteran director and living legend Hayao Miyazaki has two projects for the future. One of them is a new story (which will appear first) while the other is a sequel to the aviation adventure Porco Rosso, namely Porco Rosso: The Last Sortie, which will be set in the Spanish Civil War.

Space Adventure Cobra 3D

Some of us have deep and affectionate memories about an old anime series called Space Adventure Cobra or Space Pirate Cobra. The pirate guy chased across the universe by lots of bounty hunters, the mechanized arm, his android assistant, his numerous female companions, space adventures, and so on. Well, I have good news, because French director Andre Aja (Hills Have Eyes 2, Mirrors and the upcoming Piranha 3D) wants to revive the Cobra in a 3D form. The French director has an old…

Dracula: Year Zero

As a fellow countrymen (of some sort), I’m always proud when a new Dracula movie gets out there. Also, I’m proud when a bad Dracula movie blows it (like Dracula 2000). That being said, there is a new one now! Director Alex Proyas (Knowing, Dark City) will start shooting his new movie, Dracula: Year Zero next year, in Australia. Why there, no one knows.
It will be a supernatural thriller or a historical drama (choose one) I think, and I can tell you by now there will be no London adventure …

Mobile Suit Gundam Gunpla Builders Beginning G trailer

And when we all thought Sunrise couldn’t get more Gundams out there. Well, given the slow phase at which Gundam Unicorn OVA’s are appearing, its hard to think when they had time to work at another Gundam project, called, like the title says, Mobile Suit Gundam Gunpla Builders Beginning G! In Japanese, Mokei Senshi Gunpla Builders Beginning G! Yeah! That’s a name!
But what many sites are saying is that Sunrise will not treat this new series like a major Gundam anime, but more like a side series, like SD Gundam: …
