guin saga episode 13 and 14

A double review again. Our heroes plan to head towards Argos, and to achieve this, they must rent places on a boat. They found one and through some tricks, they put Guin on board as well.

Things start to get interesting between Aldo Naris and Amnelis. Although obviously in love, Amnelis keeps showing her icy side, denying any feelings towards Aldo. She is more used to handle swords and riding horses, like she confesses. Aldo invites her to see the magic of Parros, and Amnelis falls for it.

She is trapped in the ancient teleporting chamber and Aldo makes her realize that she should start acting like a woman, follow her heart and stop trying to control everyone around her like a tough princess. The long kiss does it, and her ice armor melts. I think this was the first big romantic scene from this anime, and it did well. It wasn’t too cheesy ^^ In the next days, she starts to act like a lady, giving up the armor for some fancy dresses.

But behold, another Xena like warrior princess appears to replace Amnelis. And her name is Regia! She looks like a man, she serves Aldo Naris and we can clearly see that she has feelings for him. She can be a good candidate for an Aldo groupie. Cat fight soon! Ill place my bets on Amnelis sama! And Aldo is not an angel either. He clearly plays on two fronts and he has some unknown schemes in the making.

Astrias, who from now on can be described as a desperate stalker (no longer a fan-boy, he was promoted) arrives in the city too, to save “his” true love, Amnelis, from a fate darker than death. Oh boy, he will get a broken heart when he will find that the girl doesn’t even think at him and she loves another. Some great soap-like love dramas to follow :D

I noticed some funny names mentioned in this episode. Dallas, Karthron! From where do they come with these names? My thoughts fly to Gundam 00, which was also full of weird… long… names. As a random fact, there are also plenty of Brazilians called Washington. But they are not anime characters 0_o

On the board of the ship, the crew starts to be weary of Guin and a fight starts. To not endanger the others, Guin accepts to leave the ship, but in change, the rest of his group should be taken to their destination, Argos. A strange scene follows, as a ship of light appears from nowhere and takes Guin away. Perhaps the mystery behind the Ship of Light will be explained on the next episode. But it really seems that Guin has the gods looking upon him.

Remus is continuing to evolve, and we can see a dark side of him already, as he begins to be cynic and brave. “Is this the same Remus?” Istvan asks himself. Good point. Remus evolved a lot. I begin to wonder when Rinda will suffer the same fate too. She is the same spoiled good-at- nothing brat. Nice interesting episodes, getting into some romance to spice up things along the way. Not a big part for Guin to play in these episodes. See you soon otaku.
