Karigurashi no Arrietty footage and images

6 February 2010 by Andrei No Comment

A Japanese television ( NTV or NHK, is not sure) showed footage of some images from the next Studio Ghibli film, Karigurashi no Arrietty (The Borrowers). The video clip shows the images I’ve posted bellow, but you can also see Toshio Suzuki and Hayao Miyazaki, if only for brief moments. I find the artwork charming. It has a strong classic feeling to it, like the old anime series that Hayao worked on, Future Boy Conan or Heidi, but also has traits from Nausicaa and Laputa. It seems that some of the image boards are drawn by Hayao Miyazaki and are part of a mini album that will be released in the future. Those images say something very pleasing to my eyes. Classic animation style. Yay!

I’m impatiently waiting now for the first trailer. Also, here is a LINK for those of you who understand Japanese. Enjoy the footage.
