Kentaro Miura
Kentaro Miura was born on July the 11th, in the city of Chiba, Japan. Beginning from school, at the age of then, he was already working on a manga called Miuranger, which he made for the colleagues in his class. The manga made its debut in the school’s publication and lasted for 40 volumes. Just one year later, Miura started to work on his next manga, called Ken e No Michi (The Way Of The Sword). In 1982, with the help of some friends, a work of his was published in a magazine.

In 1985 he was accepted as student at an art course at the Niho University, by presenting his works, Futanabi and Noa. Later, Futanabi was awarded the prize for Best New Author by the Shonen magazine. Noa was published by Shonen in the same year. In 1988 he started the Berserk myth with a manga called Berserk Prototype. In this work, he was quite introducing the reader in the dark fantasy world of Berserk, although the character was not the final form of Guts. This manga gets him an award from the Comi Manga School.
The next manga that he works on, “The Legend of the Wolf King” or “Ohroh”, allows him to work with Buronson (Yoshiyuki Okamura), the creator of Hokuto no Ken. Ohroh is published in the Animal House magazine. The same magazine publishes the first story arch of Berserk, called The Golden Age (Animal House number 10). Berserk achieves huge success and fame, and makes Kentaro Miura dedicating himself to the character he created. Berserk gathers millions of fans all over the world, hooked on the rich dark-fantasy with medieval touches that supports the story, very credible characters and great art.

Miura joins again Buronson in the creation of another manga, Japan. Published in Animal House magazine, from the first issue of 1992 until the eight one. Later, Japan is published in stand-alone book.
The making of the Berserk anime put Kentaro Moura in charge of supervising all the 25 episodes, which are broadcast in 1997 on NTV. The anime brought him even greater success, attracting new public in the manga version. The Berserk manga is published in USA by Dark Horse comics.
