King of Thorn updates
After 100 years of sleep, the future will be yours, but do you really want it?
Six months ago or so, I was was posting a trailer for the anime film King of Thorn. Now I think is time to gather all the facts and take again a look at what this film has to offer. Cold facts.
The film is directed by Kazuyoshi Katayama, with a screenplay by Hiroshi Yamaguchi & Kazuyoshi Katayama, inspired after the manga ‘’King of Thorn’’ by Yuji Iwahara. What I found interesting is that there is a person responsible with the ‘’Monster Design’’ in the staff list. Thats Kenji Ando, and if this it was not enough, there is also another guy responsible with the ‘’Mechanical Design’’. So we are going to have a lot of monsters and robots running around. The animation production is done by SUNRISE, which is a great thing, as this only means awesome animation. And I find the mix between horror and science-fiction fascinating (see Alien).
Quoting from the official site kingofthorn.net:
“Medusa”….a deadly virus becomes a worldwide epidemic. In order to escape from this deadly virus,
a handful of people are chosen to be put into a cold sleep, laying in a capsule hoping for the future cure.
Kasumi, a teenage girl is one of the 160 chosen for this procedure, and is guided to a Cold Sleep Capsule Center (CSCC) inside an ancient castle. Understanding that it is hardly possible, Kasumi goes to sleep still anticipating for a reunion with her twin sister Shizuku, who also is infected with the virus.
As Kasumi and the others awake, they notice that the CSCC is not as they remembered. Just like the story of “Sleeping Beauty,” the castle is covered with thorn, and the awaked are attacked by unknown creatures and monsters….! How long were they asleep? Where did the monsters come from? What have happened to the world? Abandoned in the midst of enigma, the escapade of the seven survivors begins…
BOO! And while the film was shown at the Sci-Fi London Octoberfest 2009, is has yet to be released for all the mortals out there. When? Somewhere in 2010, for Japan that is. Now, I don’t even know if anything that i have written in here is news for the reader. I wanted a more complete article, but there is a weird lack of info about this film, while everyone is pushing words about Ghibli’s next release. The anime world is not just about Ghibli, dudes. They are just a small part of it.
PS”: Totally not related. All of you Apple preachers and retards, stop evangelizing the disappearance of Flash. This affirmation from dozens of self-proclaimed gurus pissed me off. If that retard new device doesn’t have it, it doesn’t mean is bad for the internet. Is just bad for your cult leader, because he wont sell his pathetic apps. Adobe Flash on the iTard device means access to Adobe Air, which means no one will buy anymore the 1.000.000.000 duplicated fart apps. Guess what? Thousands of companies wont stop making money out of Flash. And while I will enjoy a FULL RICH web experience on my PC, you will get on your iPad a reduced pathetic version of the net. Enjoy your 500-1000 dollars experience.
