Live-action Star Wars sometime in 2010?

“Difficult to see. Always in motion is the future.’’
Indeed. I found an article about an executive from Lucas Film refusing to tell more about this project so I started to dig up on the internet. Prepare for lots of rumors and speculations now.
First, the future live action series is set between Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars episode IV: A New Hope. Focused on minor characters, the live action series will show the newly formed Galactic Empire after the fall of the Jedi Order. There will be no Jedi or Vader appearing it it, but the imperial troops will (well, we DO need someone to represent the Empire!), some generals of the Empire and a mandalorian. Pretty vague. There is also a rumor that the character Quinlan Vos, from Star Wars: Republic (Dark Horse) will appear in it. Also, a secret apprentice of Darth Vader can make an apparition as well.
First rumors about the new show appeared in 2004, and there were confirmed in 2005 by Lucas. He revealed later, in 2007, that he will begin working on the script for this future live action series, and later rumors have started to spread about the beginning of the casting procedures. He also said that they will be filming a whole season before finding a network to air it. Speaking of networks, News Corp, Disney (wtf), Fox and ABC showed interest towards broadcasting it. Regarding the actors, I found that some of the people ‘’believed’’ to be involved in the project are: Daniel Logan as a young Boba Fett, Jay Laga’aia (no idea who he will play yet), Ian McDarmind and Peter Mayhew.
There is no idea about who will write the live action series, but about 200 people were interviewed for the job (Jeez, you don’t need to look that much! Hire a Star Wars writer from Dark Horse o.O). But again, Starwars.wikia has Louise Fox, Tony McNamara and Fiona Seres named as the writers. Well…
Producer Rick McCallum stated that he hopes to do ”up to 400 episodes”. Now, I cannot oppose to that :D The series will be split in small shows, each one focusing on different characters. A possible release date? In 2010 they say. At least they will try to do so.
I guess that’s all. You can easily find stuff about the future live action series by just goggling around, if this article dint satisfied your hunger.

Why doesn’t Lucas wait until AFTER Clone Wars is done then do another CGI series set between eps. 3 & 4? And 400 episodes? Is McCallum high? The most successful shows on TV rarely reach that many.
I think he is going for the The Young and the Restless record. On a serious tone, a series that takes place between Episode III and IV is like … used toilet paper. Beaten track. Why not one that happens in the Knights of the Old Republic period? Plenty of fresh stories and great characters there. And they don’t even have to bother much with the stories. Dark Horse has written those already.
I think the reason is familiarity. For the Star Wars fanboy, the KOTR era can be ideal because of the games and comics but the average fan will ask “Where’s the Empire?” or “I want to see Boba Fett?”
There also might be a new Indiana Jones movie, and Harrison Ford says that he’ll return for another, depending on the script. I love Star Wars and Indiana Jones, but how many can you make before it becomes too much?
Well… five? But who the heck goes treasure hunting at 65 or smtg? Grow up Indiana!
