Mass Effect 1

Mass Effect: Redemption is the comic book adaptation of the well known PC and Xbox game produced by Bioware. More exactly, Redemption tells the events that lead up to Mass Effect 2.

Dark Horse has the official task to bring us this four-part comic-book series, which is written by Mac Walters (lead writer for the game) scripted by John Jackson Miller (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic) and drawn by Omar Garcia (Star Wars: Legacy).

Mass Effect: Redemption set to unveil for the readers a backstory that leads to the events told in Mass Effect 2. More precise, some very important events in the life of Commander Shepard, the hero of Mass Effect. Quoting Dark Horse:

The story of what happens next — exclusive to these comics — will have the commander’s companion Dr. Liara T’Soni undertake a deadly mission of extraordinary importance in the Milky Way’s lawless Terminus Systems.

And for even more details, I have found this bit on info on Wiki:

The narrative in Mass Effect: Redemption picks up just as Commander Shepard disappears and is left without the support of the crew on the Normandy in the lawless Terminus Systems. Shepard must fight for survival, and will be assisted by close companion, Dr. Liara T’Soni, to come home alive.

Dr. Liara T’Soni is a researcher belonging to the asari race, and the daughter of Matriarch Benezia (those who played the first game know who this matriarch is).

For this comic-book to come to life, Dark Horse has closely collaborated with Bioware to produce a comic-book experience that will match the atmosphere of the game itself and become an integrated part of the Mass Effect Universe.
