Samurai Jack to hit the Big Screen

About 6 to 8yrs ago New Line Cinema picked up to make Live Action Samurai Jack but went down the drain as fast as Avatar’s would be Oscars.  After years of no word of Samurai Jack’s fate(did he ever finish off Aku?)  J.J. Abrams finally picks up this marvelous cartoon to produce so Samurai Fans REJOICE!!! ^_^  It will not be  live action flick but will be in 2D with 3D stereoscopic elements it isn’t really a downside for me because Hollywood has a tendency to f*** up live action movies.  It isn’t in production yet  but with J.J. Abrams pushing the film with a 20 million dollar budget  there is no question that this movie is going to happen.

J.J. isn’t the only person on board for this project the production company Fredarator Films announced by Fred Seibert former head of Hanna Barbera is in to develop the project but they said they were only going to be on-board if the creator of Samurai Jack, Genndy Tartakovsky was coming along too. So yeah guess what? He’s on-board. This makes me happy beyond belief because after the flop of a movie that was Dragonball Evolution that had so much potential ignored the pleas of Akira Toriyama to help improve the script. Its pleasing to see a studio support the original creator because that shows that they are willing to try and make the best movie possible.

For those who aren’t familiar Samurai Jack it revolves a samurai named Jack(dur!) who fought the evil shape shifting master Aku who destroyed his father and overthrew his kingdom along with  the rest of the world.  After escaping his fallen kingdom Jack trains all around the world in order to defeat Aku. After years of training he is finally ready and goes off to face Aku to release his grip on the world.  As Jack fights Aku the victor is assured that Jack is the one to win the battle but as Jack is about to deliver the final blow Aku in a desperate attempt to win opens up a portal and sends away Jack to the future where his reign has a huge influence in the world. The cartoon was badass the artwork , plot, originality, the action all very dynamic if you weren’t a fan of it back then I suggest you go  and check it out it won’t disappoint.

I wonder how they gonna pull out this one. Im a fan, so I know that Samurai Jack is a subtle combination of SF, fantasy, humor, battles, legends and cool atmosphere. Tartakovsky is on board? Uhu! I liked a lot the shoes episode, when Jack goes in the future and tries to replace his sandals! A classic, shit!

The best episode ever is when he gets transformed into a rooster and gets put into cock battles with alien beasts that was epic

Cool! The show was one of CN’s most unique programs in years. Yet I wonder how they’ll proceed without Mako providing Aku’s voice.
