2 January 2010 by Andrei 3 Comments

There there. The first TV spot for the upcoming live action movie Space Battleship Yamato has been released. The movie will be directed by Takashi Yamazaki and it will be premiered in Japan in December 2010. The movie is based on the original Space Battleship Yamato anime series and as wiki says, ‘’the crew the Space Battleship Yamato set out on a journey to the planet Iscandar to acquire a device that can heal the ravaged Earth.’’  The movie was first announced on Otakon 2009, it has a budget of 22 million dollars and it will be heavy on CGI effects.  The casting includes Takuya Kimura, Toshiro Yanagiba, Tsutomu Yamakazi and Naoto Ogata. Those who know a little about the Japanese cinema, these names probably will mean something. I am not between them^^ Enjoy the short trailer.

Yamato’s captain reminded me of Titanic’s captain…creepy…I wonder if Yamato will crash an iceberg in space.
