Vampire Hunter D live-action + new anime rumors

Nowadays, when I hear the words live-action put next to a great anime or manga title, it makes me shiver. From fear. Fear of destroying the legends. Like Fallout 3 destroyed the Fallout legend, turning it into a sand-box shooter. In this case, its about a character very dear to me, Vampire Hunter D. One of the first anime I ever watched was the old Vampire Hunter D movie from 1985. Some years later, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust reinvented the legend, and D was back, in all his dark glory. …

Vampire Hunter D volume two

It took me some time to finally decide to make a review for this second volume. If you don’t know, volume three also appeared so I am pretty sure I will want to review it right after I will buy it. Now lets proceed with the review for Vampire Hunter D volume two. After a great first volume, I expected for something the same for this second part as well. Now, I wont say if its better or worse right now, because you may not read the review and miss some points. For starters, I like what Digital Manga made with this volume…

The manga is adapted from the novels written by Hideyuki Kikuchi, a famous Japanese horror writer. The publisher is Digital Manga Publishing, who first announced the manga at Anime Expo 2006. Volume one of this manga appeared in late 2007, and was adapted and illustrated by the artist Saiko Takaki.
I watched the Vampire Hunter D anime long time ago (i think it was in 2001), and it definitely got stuck in my mind. I think it was the first anime movie i ever watched. The weird atmosphere, the strange music …
