The Shonen type

It is one of the most popular types of anime and manga, being targeted at young male audience/teens, who make up a large part of the anime/manga fans. Its also called the male version of Shoujo. It involves a lot of fighting and action scenes, mostly involving male heroes.
Good examples of Shonen anime are Naruto, Fullmetal Alchemist, Dragon Ball, Fist of the North Star and Bleach.
