█ The Cup of Tears is a movie from the director and writer Gary Shore, about whom I couldn’t find too many things. Maybe some of you saw The Draft, which he directed in 2006. I didn’t. The Cup of Tears is a story about a geisha who creates a charmed cup who causes permanent sleep to everyone that dares to drink from it. But the cup is stolen and this leads to events that can cause a huge war between the leading clans of the country. A powerful samurai, Taro, and his friend, Jin, go in a quest to find the cup and end the war between the clans. This movie is presented as a modern fairytaile. It looks like Samurai Jack, if you know what I’m talking about. A mix of old and new, samurai, Medieval Japan, space ships and future technologies. The trailer looks stunning, no point in denying it. Combine Samurai 7, Samurai Jack, 300, Shogun, Ninja Scroll and Diablo. Tremendous work, I hope the movie will kick ass.
