A movie with Captain America has to tell the origins of the character for those who have no idea who Cap is right? Thought so myself, but apparently the director, Joe Johnson, has other ideas. In an interview with Film Journal, he said that the movie will indeed start in the second world war, but the actual origin story of Captain America, like we know it from the Marvel comics, will be ignored. Johnson wants to avoid the 60s and 70s facts from comics and to make a jump from the 40s straight in the present. Not a bad idea, from my perspective. Basically, Joe Johnson wants only the best from Captain America comics to make it to the big screen. Logic, duh!

One more thing. The same Joe Johnson said that its going to be a different Captain America that the one you expect. Well… I foresee a Captain America based on the Ultimate Avengers. Which I think that looks more real and appropriate for a movie than the normal Cap.

I’m very interested to see what villains will appear in this movie. Red Skull? Winter Soldier? Madame Hydra? But again, lets learn from the past and not put too many villains in the same movie.
